Summary after Day 63
This year I have hiked 840.7 miles on the Appalachian Trail! It has been a wonderful, scary, and awe-inspiring adventure.

Day 63: Chestnut Knob Shelter to VA 42 (Ceres, VA)
This was an amazing hike! The views were incredible and we were sorry to have such a wonderful hike end.
Day 62: Laurel Creek Rt 615 to Chestnut Knob Shelter
So many leaves! Today was a more difficult hike, but ended with wonderful views, including the sunset!
Day 61: Atkins to Route 42 Bear Garden Hiker Hostel
Back on the trail for a three-day weekend hiking in Virginia with a friend. It was chilly, but a lovely fall day.

Georgia was full of purple wildflowers!
Day 60: Laurel Creek to US Route 52
We finished our weekend hike through varied landscapes. I’ve completed over 800 miles of the AT this year!
Day 59: Route 52 to Lickskillet Hollow (Virginia)
Another lovely day for a fall hike, with lots of spiderwebs, misty view of the highway, and a surprising deer.
Day 58: Lickskillet Hollow to VA 606
This starts another short slackpacking section hike, this time back in Virginia.
Day 57: Dick’s Creek Cap (Georgia) to Deep Gap (North Carolina)
Georgia is done! This was a great section hike, and Above the Clouds Hostel and the other ladies on the hike were wonderful.
Day 56: Unicoi Gap to Dick’s Creek Gap
Today had more humpty-dumps, amazing views, and an “it’s a small-world” encounter.
