Where is the White Blaze?

Hiking the AT is a bit like a prolonged game of “where’s Waldo?” except that you are looking for blazes. The 2” by 6” white blazes indicate where the trail is. Usually they are found on trees near the path.

But they can be found on trees above the path.

They can be found on telephone poles.

They can be found on rocks.

Blazes can even be found on information kiosks!

And just to add some variety, two blazes mean the trail is changing direction.

Needless to say, the trail is well-marked!

Today is a great day for a long walk in the woods!

  1. So glad the weather has been decent for the most part!!! But I have a feeling you’ve already had the challenge of setting up your tent ⛺️ in the rain!!!!! ☔️
Hoping you’re having a good hike today, Gwen!! God’s Beaty surrounds you there! Margie
