High points: the amazing ridge line walk southbound along Mt. Race

Weather: super-hot and sunny (my third day hiking in an official heat advisory!)
Sightings: chipmunks
High points: The ridge walk near the summit of Mt. Bushnell

Weather: stinking hot with a late afternoon thunderstorm
Sightings: a gray squirrel and lots of toads
High points: blueberry pancakes for breakfast and dinner at a local brewery!

Weather: mid-80’s and sunny but thankfully less humid

High points: crossing the Massachusetts Turnpike and swimming in Upper Goose Pond

Weather: low 90’s, sunny, and humid. In other words, miserable!
Sightings: None — the animals were probably too hot to move!
High points: The view from Warner Hill and The Cookie Lady, a hiker oasis
Starting south into Massachusetts.

Weather: low 90’s — hot and sunny, with a bang-up thunderstorm in the evening
Sightings: chipmunks, tons of tiny toads and a garter snake
High points: Summiting Mt. Greylock! (And surprise free pizza!)
